EEI POWER CORPORATION (EEIPC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of EEI Corporation and a member of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, was incorporated on 06 July 1993. EEIPC was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 10 August 1993.

EEI Power’s official entry into the power generation industry was ushered in by the construction of its maiden project in 2012, the 15MW HFO Peaking Power Plant in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The Tagum plant started commercial operation on 26 December 2013, serving the power requirements of Davao del Norte Electric Cooperative’s (DANECO) franchise area via a Power Supply Agreement.

EEIPC moved in further the power generation business with its foray into renewable energy through its 10% share in PetroGreen Energy Corp. which is among the proponents of the 32MW Maibarara geothermal power plant project in Batangas; 20% participation in PetroWind Energy, Inc.’s 36MW Nabas-1 wind farm in Aklan; and, a 44% share in the 50MWp Tarlac-1 Solar PV power plant of PetroSolar Energy, Inc. in Luisita, Tarlac. EEI Power’s involvement in these projects is testament to the company’s commitment in promoting the use of clean renewable energy sources.

EEIPC also has vast experience in power plant construction and operation and maintenance. In the past, it was involved in operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of power generation plants and related equipment for stationary base load or marine applications. The company was engaged in numerous power-related projects, either through Build, Operate & Own (BOO) or Build, Operate & Transfer (BOT) schemes. It likewise undertook Operation & Management (O&M), Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS), Rehabilitation-Operate & Maintain works for local and international stationary base load plants. Further, EEI Power Corporation was also into electro-mechanical contracting.
