We moved in further the power generation business with our foray into renewable energy through our 10% share in PetroGreen Energy Corp. which is among the proponents of the 32MW Maibarara geothermal power plant project in Batangas; our 20% participation in PetroWind Energy, Inc.’s 36MW Nabas-1 wind farm in Aklan; and, our 44% share in the 50MWp Tarlac-1 Solar PV power plant of PetroSolar Energy, Inc. in Luisita, Tarlac. In order to strengthen our strategic market position, we are now engaged in the retail electricity supply business through our wholly-owned subsidiary, EEI Energy Solutions Corporation. EEI Energy was granted its Retail Electricity Supply (RES) license by the Energy Regulatory Commission in February 2021 and is now active in in the Competitive Retail Electricity Market by serving contestable customers in both Luzon and the Visayas. This likewise includes the provision of renewable energy supply to qualified customers upon the full implementation of the Green Energy Option Program, under the Philippine Renewable Energy Act of 2008.
